A typical crusade day:
7am Breakfast 7:30am Devotion time with the team (worship, morning exercise, reading the scripture, discussion and sharing), and prayer for the events of the day. 10am Visit school (Evang-e-cube sharing and give out booklets/invite students to the concert) Lunch whenever we get back to 'base'. Afternoon: choice of going to a school visit at 2pm, head to concert site and pass out flyers for the concert or go with the follow-up team that usually leaves around 3 or 3:30pm to the site we had the concert event the night before. Follow-up team will go through a short bible study, do the evang-e-cube and organize them to form bible studies. The team that gets to the site first, the band, and the local church servants get together and pray before the event. 5:30-6pm: Concert starts. (River Jam Band--note: band is also setting up and breaking down sound equipment everyday!!) After the concert we have welcome, introduction, skit (La Princessa), testimony, the team dance, music drama, evangelistic message, altar call, 4 things to do after accepting Christ, healing line call, prayer. Head back to base around 8:30pm, or whenever we are done. Sat: no school events. Sunday: the team is sent to different churches who invited us to serve there. Last crusade day: Am activity is the celebration/encouragement banquet where the pastors of all the crusades done get together for report and mutual support. |
What I appreciated:

- Please keep Philippines in your prayers! The area we visited has a stronghold of cultic Mystica and Iglesia Ni Cristo. Many residents in the more developed area of the country are fighting temptations of addictions, gambling, materialism. Worship of saints and Mary is still quite prominent in the area. Please pray for the local pastors and believers for God's protection and growth. Unity of the church will be the light.
Contact CMC if you are interested in going with them on a crusade. They are also active in many different countries. Each area will have differences in how they run the events.
2) 3/3/17-3/9/17: Cabanatuan, Philippines with CMC.

Typical crusade day schedule stayed about the same except that we have a later start of 8am. Each day, we go to a different barangay (village). Our base was at Shalom Church/Bishop Alfie who graciously hosted the lodging of the Filipino team, headed by Pastor Jill and Nilo, and the venue for our meals. Traveling team: Gennaro(CA), Karen(CA), Lianne(England), Hannah(MI), "Lolo" Chuck and Joni. (Lolo Chuck and Joni are overseas missionary stationed in Philippines). I want to give a shout out to the kitchen team headed by Marivek, aka Momita, who cooked delicious adobe meats and lots of local eats for us. I also want to honor the local Filipino team for their dedication, time and sacrifice as they have been on the road doing crusades since Jan 2017. They are crucial for translations, transportation, pre-crusade training, follow-up training, daily setting up crusade venues and tearing it down. They are also responsible for the skits, concert and worship time. They are modern day Levites in the work that they do. And each of them do it with excitement and humility that is admirable.
The first three nights were more difficult in terms of breaking the spiritual atmosphere. The numbers in attendance were lower than what we would expect in a typical day and the healing lines were not yielding as many healing reports. We started praying healing for the land in accordance to 2 Chronicle 7:14, "if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land." We added just a few minutes of identification repentance as Daniel and Moses did on behalf of their people in the pre-event prayer. The 4th night - 6th night, we were getting a heavenly response. The fifth night was actually in the smallest barangay of the area but yielded the most attendees to that point. And the 6th night, even more came. We were witnessing more reports of healing in the post event prayer lines. Many reported that a dizziness/headache they were struggling were gone. A lady who had lost her ability to walk due to pain and other issues noted that the pain in her back was gone. She was able to walk with assistance but needs continue prayers for her muscles to regain strength. Overall, more than 3,000 people accepted Christ into their hearts and over 30 potential host for bible studies were identified.
Personal perk: been able to share about Heart Sync model: Having a part of us that is protective like Father God, functional like Jesus and emotional like Holy Spirit. That each of these parts are like a trinity in us except that the trinity is not in perfect unity within us and that we need to attend to them.
Personal lesson: When praying for healing, it's so easy to fall into what we know and have learned that I fell into relying on my knowledge or my authority over snakes and scorpions as I know it. God reminded me of appealing to God's compassion rather than what I know and have learned. That revelation came on the 4th night that I was 'working' on the prayer lines. I think, at least for me, made a difference in what the people received. I suppose that is what Jesus meant when He said, Mark 9:29 "This kind can come out only by prayer."
